  • La Salle Academy's nationally recognized athletic program

La Salle Athletics is proud to be recognized as one of the premier high school athletic programs in the country. In 2025, La Salle was ranked No. 6 Best All-Around High School Athletics Program in the United States by MaxPreps.

The La Salle Rams have been a competitive presence in the Rhode Island Interscholastic League since its founding in 1932. Our tradition of excellence is grounded in dedication, teamwork, and sportsmanship. Through participation in one of our many athletic programs, young men and women grow in self-confidence, leadership, resilience, and loyalty - lessons that extend far beyond the playing field.

The McLaughlin Athletic Center continues to expand opportunities for student-athletes with state-of-the-art facilities that support physical education and elite athletic preparation. One of the largest indoor gymnasiums in Rhode Island, the Athletic Center features three basketball courts encircled by a five-lane indoor track.

Specialized spaces, including a Conditioning and Strength Training Room, Dance Studio, and Wrestling Training Room, allow for focused skill development and performance training.

Our outdoor facilities further enhance the student-athlete experience and include six tennis courts, Cronin Fields, and Cimini Stadium, which seats 1,800 spectators and overlooks a 400-meter outdoor track and multi-purpose athletic field.

As with all aspects of a Lasallian education, it is the people who make the difference. Many of our coaches have competed beyond the high school level, bringing extensive expertise and real-world experience to their teams. Faculty members also serve as coaches, modeling how Lasallian values shape team culture, leadership, and accountability. Close mentorship between coaches and student-athletes is a vital part of life at La Salle Academy.

Rooted in the mission of the school, the Athletic Program serves as an extension of the classroom. It challenges students to strive for excellence while living out the message of Christ each day. Athletics provide rigorous training, healthy competition, and opportunities for growth - developing physical ability, strategic thinking, perseverance, responsibility, and self-awareness.

At La Salle, athletics are not just about winning - they are about forming leaders of character.
