Financial Aid

Need-based tuition assistance is available to all students in grades 9 through 12. Interested families should submit an application through FACTS Tuition Management using the link on this page.

The FACTS application looks at many factors such as household income, family size, region, housing costs, auto expenses, healthcare costs and more to determine a recommended calculated award. The application and calculated award amount are then reviewed by the La Salle Financial Assistance Committee who will assess all components of the application, both quantitative and qualitative, and make a final award determination. FACTS does not make final award determinations.

Note: Tuition assistance is not available for the middle school or international students.

Frequently Asked Questions

List of 8 items.

  • Do I need to reapply for aid each year?

Yes, all students must submit a financial aid application each year. The application will be reviewed with strong consideration provided toward the amounts received in past years.

Failure to reapply for assistance will result in the redistribution of previously awarded aid to other eligible applicants.
  • What happens if my application is submitted after the deadline?

Late applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis after the initial application deadline. Applications will be reviewed with respect to the funding that remains available.

Accordingly, it is strongly encouraged to submit your application prior to the deadline each year. Returning students who previously received aid but apply late may experience a reduction and/or elimination of prior year awards, as funds are not held and will be redistributed.
  • Will my award change between years?

Every effort is made to maintain the same award level between years for each recipient, however, an application must still be submitted each year. Material changes in a household’s financial situation may impact the award amount, either increasing or decreasing.
  • Is there a minimum or maximum income level to apply for need-based financial aid?

There are no set income levels required to apply for financial aid. Our review process is highly individualized, and the Financial Aid Committee considers all factors within your application.

Please ensure all forms of household income are accurately included on your application. The committee focuses on essential family expenses; financial aid is not issued to subsidize non-essential personal lifestyle decisions.

If your application documents show no ability to contribute toward tuition, the review process will be delayed until the Committee can fully understand your family's unique financial situation. Full and open transparency is crucial for the Committee.
  • Does La Salle offer full tuition financial aid awards?

No, we do not offer full financial aid (or full-tuition awards) using institutional funds.

While we are committed to meeting the financial needs of all admitted students, our policy is built on the principle of shared responsibility. This means that every family is expected to contribute to the cost of tuition to some degree, which allows us to stretch our aid dollars to assist the largest number of students possible.

Please note that outside scholarships and third-party assistance are not subject to this policy and may cover your remaining balance, potentially bringing your cost to zero.
  • Are there any other sources of assistance?

All sources of aid provided directly by La Salle Academy are described throughout this page. There are, however, some third-party organizations that offer assistance to students seeking to attend La Salle. We are proud to partner with these groups, though each will have its own application process and qualifications to receive assistance that La Salle is not involved with.

The largest source of such assistance comes from various parishes throughout the state. While not all parishes have such programs, we would encourage you to ask your pastor if they have pathways to help support your child’s continued Catholic education.

If you are part of any other group that will help support your tuition, please have them contact the Business Office at businessoffice@lasalle-academy.org and we will be happy to work with them to ensure this assistance is reflected in your net tuition obligation.
  • Are there any sibling, alumni, or other “default” awards?

No, there are no default discounts on the tuition; all assistance is awarded through the financial aid process. However, while financial aid is awarded at the student level, the review process takes into consideration the entire family tuition obligation.

As such, awards when 2 or more students are enrolled at the same time are generally higher as noted in the typical award distribution above.
  • How do I receive assistance from the Diocese of Providence?

The Diocese of Providence partners with La Salle Academy to provide funding each year to support student’s continued Catholic education at La Salle. No separate application is needed for consideration to receive Diocesan funding.

The available funds are awarded during the annual review process at La Salle and recipients will be notified with the determination notice provided from La Salle.
