SUCCESS--HANDS OUT FOR HAITI CAMPAIGN

$11, 303.45 raised!!
During the week of January 8-12 La Salle Academy conducted its "Hands Out For Haiti" campaign.  The week consisted of special school-wide prayers in the morning on the Public Address system, daily Bulletin announcements, and special classroom prayers for each day of the week.  All of this was designed to promote 2 Dress-down Days to aid our brother school in Cazeau (outside of Port-au-Prince), Haiti--The Sainte Jean Baptiste de La Salle School.

This school was built by the Institute of the Brothers of the Christian Schools through donations from Lasallian ministries around the world, including La Salle Academy, following the devastating earthquake on January 12th, 2010.  View this link for the story of the school's origins.

Each year since then La Salle Academy has contributed about $10,000.00 to enhance the school.  The DENA website describes the growth of the school.

On Wednesday, 10 January, the De La Salle Middle School conducted its Dress-down Day and more than doubled its goal! On Friday, 12 January, the high school students donated almost $9,000.00.  La Salle far surpassed its goal of $8,100.00, set to provide for some specific needs of the school this year.
