  • School Transcripts and Teacher Recommendations

    We are looking for qualified, enthusiastic, and creative students who are committed to their education and excited about being a part of our La Salle community. We use the following to assess a student’s qualification for acceptance:
    • Standardized Testing (HSPT)
    • Completed Admissions Application Form
    • Transcript and Teacher Recommendation
    The admissions office will work with you to request transcripts and teacher recommendations from your current school after your application is submitted. A parental release is included in the application.  Additional letters of recommendation are not required but are accepted.
  • Transportation Options

    La Salle Academy offers free and private bussing from many cities and towns throughout Rhode Island and nearby Massachusetts.  Carpool options are also available.  Click here for more information.
  • Placement Examination

    Students applying to enter 9th-grade are required to take the High School Placement Exam.  The HSPT will be offered on the following dates:
    • Saturday, December 3, 2022 at 8am
    • Saturday, December 10, 2022 at 8am
    Register now for the Placement Exam

    In addition, prospective students must write an essay at the time of the exam. Applicants whose first choice is La Salle Academy are strongly encouraged to take the placement exam at La Salle. Students applying for transfer into 10th or 11th grade are not required to take the Placement Exam.

    Remember:
    • Use the Academy Avenue entrance next to the chapel
    • Bring two No. 2 pencils
    • No calculators allowed
    • No food/drink allowed in the exam room (besides a bottle of water)
  • Decisions

    2023-2024 Decisions
    Freshmen applicants who complete all required materials by January 13, 2023, will be considered in the first pool of applicants
    and will be notified of committee decisions by January 27, 2022. After that date, admission is conducted on a space-available basis.
     
    Sophomore and junior transfer applications will be reviewed in February.

    De La Salle Middle School decisions are made on a rolling basis.
    A decision reply and tuition deposit are required three weeks from the decision date. All deposits will go toward a student's tuition. Tuition deposits are non-refundable.

Applications and Visiting La Salle

Submit your application online in the fall of the year before enrollment, and be careful to select the correct enrollment year. There is a $50 application fee.

The best way to learn about La Salle Academy is to visit our beautiful, state of the art campus and meet some of our faculty, staff and students. Please email Mrs. Marilyn Santomaro at msantomaro@lasalle-academy.org or call 401-351-7750 ext 122 to schedule a private tour.  Private tours are offered Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 1:30 pm.

Transfers

If you're interested in immediately transferring to La Salle Academy, submit an application and then email admissions@lasalle-academy.org so we know to expedite the process. Other than immediate transfers, we review transfer applications each February.

If you're seeking a 12th-grade transfer, please contact the admissions office directly for specific application instructions.

La Salle Academy is a high school rich in history and grounded in the person and teachings of Jesus and the Catholic faith, which are core to the school's life and culture. The De La Salle Middle School provides a strong holistic foundation for students to transition into high school. The high school and middle school provide students of diverse ethnic, economic, and religious backgrounds, a community to foster growth in the tradition of St. John Baptist de La Salle’s ideals of faith, service, and community.
