Tavares, Rego, and Wilbur have all taken turns being La Salle's top runner this year. In the states, it was Tavares' turn. She beat her time from last week's Class A Championships by 27 seconds. Rego and Wilbur ran controlled races and finished in 4th and 8th, respectively. Papazian and O'Neill really stepped up to finish 13th and 14th. Those finishes gave La Salle 39 points to easily outdistance second place Barrington's 95 points.

The girls have now won six of the past eight Rhode Island state championships.
