Senior Luke Telang had two goals as the La Salle Boys Soccer team defeated South Kingstown High School 3-0 Wednesday night to advance to the RIIL State Championship game. The Rams will take on North Kingstown High School Saturday at noon at Rhode Island College in the championship game.

After a scoreless, well-played first half, Telang found the back of the net after a scramble in front. Trevor Torres was going towards the net for a head ball when the SK goalie collided with one of his own players. Telang found the ball at his feet and delivered what proved to be the winning goal. A few minutes later, Matt Santoro found a crease along the goal line by the corner and fired a ball in front of the net. Once again, Telang corraled it and fired it home. With 12 minutes to go in the game, Javier Lopez fired a shot from just outside the 18 yard box to make it 3-0.

South Kingstown continued to apply pressure, but the combination of keeper Alex Padilla and backs Greg Forgue, Aaron Boyle, Jonah Uribe, and Ryan St. Pierre kept the score at 3-0.
