The 2012 La Salle Academy Hall of Fame dinner and ceremony was a spectacular event attended by the largest crowd in the event’s history with nearly 500 in attendance at the Crowne Plaza in Warwick, Rhode Island to honor the 11 inductees.
The evening began with a social hour that included entertainment by the very talented La Salle student jazz ensemble.
La Salle Vice President of Advancement Tim Welsh began the formal events of the evening by speaking about the Hall of Honor and the criteria by which those inducted are selected. He was followed by La Salle Academy President Brother Thomas Gerrow, F.S.C. who officially welcomed the guests and those being honored.

He was followed by La Salle Academy President Brother Thomas Gerrow, F.S.C. who officially welcomed the guests and those being honored.
Then began the introduction of each honoree by year of graduation and each gave his acceptance speech.
The men being honored were Fr. Peter J. Gibbons 1905 (deceased), Richard F. Kirby ’42, Donald M Panciera ’46 (deceased), Most Reverand Francis X. Roque, D.D. ’46, Robert F. Mazzeo ’55, Brother Michael Mc Kenery, F.S.C. ’57, Michael E. Kelly ’60, Thomas J. Chisholm ’64, John J. Regan, Esq. ’67, Terrance W. Allen ’74 and Colonel Steven G. O’Donnell ’78.
In accepting the honor of induction, each of the inductees spoke of their days at La Salle as being transformative – some spoke with humor, some with reverence and all with passion about what their school meant to them and the positive effect it has had on their lives. Speaking on behalf of Father Gibbons was former Hall of Fame inductee Walter McLaughlin ’57. Accepting on behalf of Mr. Panciera was his wife Patty.
