Reading Plus is geared towards students who are reading at a sub-grade level.  It's an automatic computer-based program that monitors their Independent Reading Rate, Guided Reading Rate, Word Knowledge and Comprehension skills.

Allen managed the program throughout the summer and was placed in charge of its application for the school year 2012-2013.  In addition to her own eighth grade class, she manages thirteen other teachers using the program.

The Reading Plus program is a workshop component in the Response to Intervention Strategies initiative hosted by the Colorado Department of Education.
