Congratulations to our La Salle Academy Science Fair winners who competed exceptionally well in the Rhode Island Science & Engineering Fair (RISEF) earlier this month.
First Place medals were given to Gianna Jasinski, Paul Phou, Cailin Catarina and Anna Sroczynski. Second Place Medals went to Julianna Marandola, Michael Papazian, Derek Forand, Elizabeth Heon, Christopher Masko and Katherine Schlinke.

First Place medals were given to Gianna Jasinski, Paul Phou, Cailin Catarina and Anna Sroczynski. Second Place Medals went to Julianna Marandola, Michael Papazian, Derek Forand, Elizabeth Heon, Christopher Masko and Katherine Schlinke.
In addition, Michael Papazian won special awards from Project Oceanology for which he received check for $100, a book, two passes to come aboard a research vessel, a t-shirt, a $25 check from the Bristol County Water Authority, a savings bond from the Coastal Resources Management and a $100 savings bond from the Narragansett Bay Commission.
Paul Phou also won a $100 Savings Bond from the Narragansett Bay Commission as well as an award for the Outstanding Drinking Water Quality Science Fair Project by Rhode Island Water Works Association (RIWWA).
Elizabeth Heon won a special award from the U.S. Metric Association and from the Naval Undersea Warfare Center, which allows her to spend a day in their research facility.
Anna Sroczynski won the RISEF Award for Sustainable living from Apeiron Institute. This came with a field trip for 30 students for La Salle Academy to Apeiron's ecological housing model. She also won second place from the Coastal Resources Management Council for presenting a project reflecting environment awareness, which came with a savings bond.
Kyle Hannon competed in ISWEEP (International Sustainable World
Energy Engineering Environment Project Olympiad) and became the RI Finalist for his project, “ Can a base of an offshore wind farm be made to help prevent coastal erosion?” Kyle will attend the international competition in Houston, Texas in May. Super Science Students!
