La Salle and Mount St. Charles had split the first two games of the best of three series, with the Mount winning Game 2 on Sunday 2-1. The teams appeared to be evenly matched, and going into the third period of the deciding game, the score was tied 0-0. Early in the period, Bernier took the puck down the right side and sent a shot on net that managed to elude the Mount goalie. Jenna Pari received the assist on the goal. With 12 minutes to go in the game, Coach Sean McNamara had to rely on his Senior Goalie Scott, and a defense that had come up big all year. Pari, Juniors Jordan Moore and Victoria Piccirillo, Sophomore Annmarie Ottaviani, and Freshman Emily Coughlin and Amanda Blackmar helped Scott keep the Mount from getting clear shots, and made sure all the rebounds were swept away. Migliori and fellow Freshman Meaghan Rickard, who had an assist on Migliori's goal, kept the offensive pressure up througout the game. Captain's Abbie Sorensen and Sydney Galletly, along with Junior Karoline Inman, sophomore Alyssa DiMaio, and Freshmem Michaela McNamara, Cailin Catarina, and Sarah Pearson played both ends of the ice, backchecking when it was needed and putting pressure on the Mount defense.

The Lady Rams had won two Division II Championships in 2009 and 2010, but this was their first time in the RIIL State Championship Finals. For Seniors Scott, Galletly, Sorensen, and Pari, it has been a remarkable run, and they have permanently etched their names in the grreat history of La Salle Academy Athletics.

To further add to the greatness of their season, the team was awarded the Sportsmanship Award by the Coaches Association.
