Peter Gobis '68, Sports Reporter Extraordinaire

We recently heard from La Salle grad Peter Gobis ’68, who is a sportswriter and columnist at The Sun Chronicle of Attleboro, Massachusetts -- the New England Newspaper and Press Association’s “General Excellence-Distinguished Newspaper” award-winner.

Peter was the 2011 Recipient of the New England Better Newspaper Association’s “Best Sports Story” for the year.  He covers the PC Friars, the New England Patriots, the PawSox, various college and high school sports and writes two columns weekly, a personality profile each Tuesday and a notebook smorgasbord of sporting items each Friday.

“I can still fit into my La Salle varsity sweater and make at least two free throws in succession,” said Peter.  “I plan on wearing that sweater in September when Geoff Marcone’s La Salle football team visits North Attleboro.”
