Town of Foster Names Baseball Field For Michael Polouski '51

La Salle Academy alum Michael Polouski ’51 has been honored by the Town of Foster, Rhode Island for his many years of service as the town’s Recreation Department Director by naming the baseball field at Woody Lowden center Polouski Field.
 
The official dedication ceremony was held on Saturday, April 9, 2011.
 
The Foster Town Council approved the naming of the field based on a recommendation from Foster Recreation Committee which wrote:  “Over the many years of service to the Town of Foster, Mr. Michael Polouski has worked diligently in the capacity of Recreation Director to ensure that our community has a wide variety of activities . . .  but as many of you know, baseball is one of Mike’s favorite areas.  His passion is reflected in our wonderful baseball field at the Woody Lowden Recreation Center . . .”

The letter went on to say that Mike had acquired a baseball pitching machine that helped the town’s Little League team and arranged for donations of paint from Home Depot to improve the bleachers and dugouts.
