PEGASUS 7/8 Students Do Well In State Science Fair
La Salle Academy PEGASUS 7/8 students did very well at the recently held Rhode Island Science and Engineering Fair Junior Division
The students who received honors were:
First Grant
Broadcom Masters Award (Top 10 percent) and Best in Fair (Top Ten)
Giorgina Giampaolo for her project in Medicine and Health Sciences: Hot Diggity Dog: A Microscopic Study of "All-Beef" Hot Dogs. Gigi examined and classified the contents of hot dogs.

Broadcom Masters Award, 2nd Place Award from Bristol County Water Authority
David Dapaah-Afriyie, Kyle Hannon, and Jonathan Koehler for their entry in Enviromental Science: What's in Your Water? David, Kyle, and Jon analyzed local waters for the presence of E. coli.
Second Grant
Biagio DeSimone for his entry in the Physics and Astronomy category: Firing up Ferrofluids. Biagio studied the effects of a ferrofluid’s temperature on its response to a magnet.
Second Grant
Paul Phou for his work in Plant Sciences: Extreme Gardening: The Effects of Various Amounts of Phosphorus on the Brassica rapa Plant. Paul studied the effects of nutrient concentration on plant growth and flowering.
