Capuano, Picerelli Named To The Providence Journal's All-State Football Team

Senior Vito Capuano and Junior Peter Picerelli were named to the Providence Journal's 1st Team All-State Football team for 2010. Capuano was named to the defensive team as a linebacker and Picerelli was named as the punter.

Senior Vito Capuano and Junior Peter Picerelli were named to the Providence Journal's 1st Team All-State Football team for 2010. Capuano was named to the defensive team as a linebacker and Picerelli was named as the punter.

On Capuano, the ProJo said, "One of the top linebackers in the state, Capuano was involved in 130 tackles for the Rams this fall. An outstanding lacrosse player as well as football star, he had five sacks as he anchored a young La Salle defensive unit that helped the Rams earn their 11th consecutive berth in the Division I playoffs."

On Picerelli, the ProJo is quoted as "Picerelli’s foot played a major role in a young La Salle team finishing in a tie for third place during the Division I regular season. One of the top punters and place kickers in the state, Picerelli continually kept opposing offenses from gaining good field position by averaging 40 yards per punt."

Senior Mike McDermott and Junior Will Sturgis were named to the 2nd Team. McDermott was named to the defensive team as a safety, and Sturgis was named to the offensive team as a lineman.
