La Salle To Host Basketball Clinic

On September 18, 2010, La Salle Academy will host a basketball clinic for all boys and girls youth, CYO, Catholic Athletic League, middle school, and high school coaches.  Invited participants include: all head and assistant coaches throughout Rhode Island and Massachusetts area.  The clinic will be held at the McLaughlin Athletic Center on the La Salle campus at 612 Academy Avenue in Providence.

 

“Rhode Island has a great tradition of basketball coaches at all levels, this is a wonderful opportunity for the youth coaches to learn from some of the great college coaches in the area” said La Salle Head Basketball Coach Bill Black.

The following coaches have generously agreed to volunteer their time and effort with the La Salle Basketball Coaching Clinic; Keno Davis, Providence College Men’s Head Basketball Coach, Tim O’Shea, Head Men’s Basketball Coach at Bryant University, Joe Jones, Associate Head Basketball Coach at Boston College, and Kenneth White, the Providence College Strength and Conditioning Coach.  Other coaches who will be speaking are from magnificent universities such as, Boston University, University of Vermont, Rhode Island College, Stonehill College, and Worcester Polytechnic Institute.

 

Admission for the clinic is $20 with proceeds benefiting the Hasbro Children’s Hospital, Tomorrow Fund. “It is amazing that these caliber of coaches are donating their time for a special cause,” said Black.

 

Coaches attending can register starting at 8 a.m.  Clinic will begin sharply at 8:30 a.m.  Please see the schedule below.  Topics will be finalized in the next couple of days.
