James Maloney '40 - Drum Major and Grandfather of La Salle Grads

James Maloney, Class of 1940 and Drum Major of the La Salle Academy band in 1938 contacted us in late May and sent a note and a great photograph of his four grandchildren at St. Luke’s Church in Barrington on May 22, 2010, the day of Catherine Maloney’s confirmation. He also sent a photo of himself from his days as the Drum Major.

 

In addition to Catherine, a La Salle sophomore, the other grandchildren attending the confirmation were Stephanie Maloney, a religion teacher at La Salle, Megan, a teacher at a Catholic school in Fall River and James who is studying for a Master’s Degree in Business at Providence College.

Missing from the photo is one more grandson, Matthew, who is a star javelin thrower at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville.
