La Salle Science Olympiad Team Scores Well

La Salle Academy’s Science Olympiad Team placed fourth in a field of 24 high schools in the all-day event at Rhode Island College on Saturday, April 24. 

The competition included events that required previous knowledge (as in Chemistry Lab), study (as in Fossils) and building and engineering (as in Mousetrap Vehicle and Egg-O-Naut).

The following La Salle students received medals:

Margie Thorsen and Grace McKay-Corkum won a silver medal for placing second in Anatomy and Physiology.

Margie Thorsen and Caitlyn Marino won a bronze medal for placing third in Cell Biology.

Chris Lee won a silver medal for his second place finish in Egg-O-Naut.

Nicole Capobiano placed third and took home a bronze medal in Trajectory.

Alana Ferri placed second in Science Bowl and took home a silver medal.
