Nearly 300 La Salle alumni, parents faculty, staff and spouses enjoyed a full and beautiful morning at the school Sunday, December 14 at the President's Annual Appreciation Mass and Brunch for Philanthropic Supporters.
Following Mass in the Brother Michael Mc Kenery Arts Center Theatre celebrated by La Salle Chaplin Rev. Albert Kenney, Br. Michael welcomed everyone with comments about the school and thanked those in attendance for their continuing support. He cited the Lasallian Mission of helping those in need, particularly for those students whose families cannot afford the annual tuition and asked for the prayers of those at the Mass.
Br. Michael told of a phone call from the parents of a student saying that they could not make the required tuition payments and would have to withdraw the student. Brother said that the power of prayer was evident the next day when he received a letter from the parents of a recent graduate thanking La Salle for being such a school of excellence and for the positive impact that it had on their child. Enclosed with the letter was a check sufficient to cover the tuition for the student who was going to be forced to withdraw. It was a powerful reminder of the power of prayer and the joy of giving.
