Dear Parents and Guardians:
In this rapidly evolving crisis, we are at a critical moment to contain the spread of a serious illness. At La Salle Academy, we are heeding Governor Raimondo’s message about all of our students staying home and not traveling to “non-essential” activities and places of gathering.
- Sleep overs
- Going to the mall/movies/gyms
- Intramural or pickup sporting games
- Visitors in your home (Includes one or more friends getting together in person)
This sounds extreme because it is. We are supporting the concept of “social distancing” between family units and between individuals across those family units to protect those vulnerable to the virus.
Social distancing is the practice of reducing close contact between people to slow the spread of infections or diseases. Social distancing measures include limiting large groups of people coming together, closing buildings, and cancelling events.
We are asking our La Salle parents to set the example by strongly discouraging/prohibiting even small social gatherings of La Salle students during this break. The state has targeted these social gatherings as the primary indicator in spreading the COVID-19 virus.
Live Jesus in our Hearts,
