TWO LA SALLE TEACHERS COMPLETE LASALLIAN PROGRAM

Beth Cameron (Social Studies Department) and Eric Simonelli (Director of College Counseling) complete the John Johnston Institute

On March 14-16 two La Salle Academy faculty members completed the two and one half year Regional Lasallian Formation Program---the John Johnston Institute of Contemporary Lasallian Practices.

This Institute, sponsored by the Regional Conference of Christian Brothers, provides an opportunity over two week-long Summer sessions and 4 weekend sessions, for a deeper understanding and appreciation of the life and vision of the Founder, Lasallian pedagogy and evangelization, priority of service to the poor and the promotion of justice, and the extent of the Lasallian Mission in each District, in the Region and in the Lasallian World.

Cohort groups have met by District groupings except during the second Summer when all three cohort groups met at Lasallian Lewis University outside of Chicago.

During the final session participant pairs or groupings have presented their capstone project (the ways in which they will bring their new learnings to their local educational communities).  The pair from La Salle Academy are planning a series of four presentations that can be used with parent groups during the course of four years of meetings with College Counseling and Guidance personnel.
