The former Dean of the School of Religious Studies at Catholic University is also teaching new course – “The Apostle Paul’s Letters” which explores the thirteen Letters of Paul, the New Testament’s oldest text --
a nine DVD set on Paul's letters (issued by Now You Know Media).

“In 24 lectures, students will gain a deep understanding of the New Testament, early Christianity, and the life of this great apostle,” said Fr. Collins.  “They will enter into the world of Paul and will look at Paul’s letters to the Thessalonians, Philippians, Philemon, Galatians, Corinthians, and Romans and by examining them in the order in which they were written, you will appreciate how Paul’s epistolary skills developed as he responded to issues that prompted him to write to the five churches.”

Fr.  Collins is a renowned expert on the New Testament.  He was formerly dean of the School of Religious Studies and professor of New Testament at Catholic University.  He has also served as a member of the faculty of theology at the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, where he was chair of the Programs in English, long-time editor of Louvain Studies, and rector of the American College.

Father Collins earned his Bachelor, Licentiate and Doctoral degrees in Sacred Theology from the Catholic University of Leuven.
