LA SALLE SWIMS PAST PROUT

The La Salle Boys and Girls Swimming teams defeated the Prout School Friday night at the Westerly YMCA. The boys had a 48-38 win while the girls scored a 53-41 triumph. Junior Joe Charpentier had two individual wins for the boys, and Junior Madalyn Redding did the same for the girls.

Charpentier won the 50 and 100 yard freestyle events, and also swam legs on the winning 200 yard medley relay and the 200 yard freestyle relay. The Rams also received individual wins from Jordan Tripodi in the 200 individual medley, Kendall Soares in the 500 freestyle, and Jackson McDonough in the 100 backstroke. Tripodi, McDonough, and Charpentier combined with Joe Lifrak to win both the 200 medley relay and the 200 freestyle relay.

Redding won the 200 freestyle and 100 freestyle. She also swam a leg on the winning 400 freestyle relay with Samantha Karlson, Ava Andrews, and Bridget Bernardo. Andrews took the gold in the 100 backstroke.

Both teams are now preparing for Tuesday night's Senior Night event against Cumberland at RIC's Surdut Pool.
