FOOTBALL ALUMNI HONORED ON THANKSGIVNG FOR 75TH ANNIVERSAY AT PIERCE STADIUM

This year's Thanksgiving Day Football game marked the 75th anniversay of the opening of Pierce Memorial Stadium, the site of so many great Thanksgiving Day contests between the La Salle Academy and East Providence High School Football teams. To mark the occasion, players from each decade were chosen to represent their schools and were honored at halftime. Mr. Jim Deffley '44 represented the 1940s for La Salle. Mr. Deffley, a 2002 La Salle Hall of Fame inductee, was also the long time coach of the Townies, so his appearance was especially poignant.
La Salle was also represented by Mr. Dave Souza '59, Mr. Al Mello '69, Mr. William Deffley '73, Mr. Matthew Hannigan '82, Mr. Rico Vota '99, and Mr. Lorenzo Perry '03.

Mr. Steve Lepre '67, a 2006 La Salle Hall of Fame inductee and the owner of Lepre Physical Therapy, was instrumental in helping to organize the La Salle alumni for the event.
