LA SALLE GIRLS TAKE DIVISION I SWIMMING TITLE

The La Salle Girls Swimming team showed Sunday that they are still the team to beat in Rhode Island. The Lady Rams scored 401.5 points to outdistance the Prout School by 54.5 points to earn the Division I Girls Swimming Championship. La Salle won 5 of the 11 events in the meet. Georgia Pettibone won the 200 Individual Medley and the 100 Breaststroke, and swam legs on the winning 200 Medley Relay and the 200 Freestyle Relay.

Ivanna Andrews won the 100 Butterfly, came in 2nd in the 100 Backstroke, and swam on the two winning relays. In the 200 Medley Relay, Karolyn Sundberg and Jessica Trupiano swam with Pettibone and Andrews, and in the 200 Freestyle Relay, Kelsi-Mariah Oresman and Lauren Kowalski took gold with them. Oresman took a bronze in the 200 Freestyle event, and a silver in the 100 Freestyle.
