Welcome to La Salle Academy.
For 150 years, La Salle has provided students with an exceptional Catholic, college preparatory education in the Lasallian tradition – helping young people from Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and Connecticut build a solid foundation of knowledge, values, and faith. In recent years, we've extended our arms to welcome international students to campus.
Our community is blessed to be part of a long and storied Lasallian tradition that traces its roots back more than 330 years to 17th century France. Today, we are part of a vibrant global network of educational ministries with over 1,000 schools, in 80 countries, that serve more than a million young people.
The teachings and work of Saint John Baptist de La Salle, our founder and the Patron Saint of Teachers, continues to be essential to our mission. He believed, as do we, that it's our moral imperative to provide young people with a Christian education, particularly those from disadvantaged and underserved communities. The heart of our community will always be helping our students grow into the men and women God created them to be intellectually, religiously, and ethically.
Daily activities are grounded in the person and teachings of Jesus and the Catholic faith, which are core to the life and culture of the school. At La Salle, each of us are called to play a special part in God’s providential plan for our students. We are called to exercise our educational ministry with “faith and zeal”, and model a vision of life that makes Jesus alive and present.
This all takes place on our beautiful 29-acre campus, located at the heart of Providence’s historic Elmhurst neighborhood. La Salle offers state-of-the-art classrooms and science labs, as well as recently renovated facilities, including the John P. Cronin Fields and Louis Cimini Stadium. In addition, our campus is home to the best possible facilities for our students and alumni, including the McLaughlin Athletic Center, the Shea Science and Student Center, the Brother Michael McKenery Arts Center, the Gallogly Family Auditorium, and Alumni Conference Center.
We are pleased to offer the same high-quality academic opportunities for students in grades 6 through 8. The addition of De La Salle Middle School to the La Salle Academy family was a natural extension of our mission.
Today, as in the past, we serve our students with advancements in teaching, technology, and scholarships. In Lasallian educational communities, educators touch hearts, stimulate minds, and cultivate leadership potential to better prepare students for life, work, and service to both society and the church.
