Best Buddies Walks for a Cause

The La Salle Academy Best Buddies Chapter participated in the Best Buddies Friendship Walk and were awarded top trophy honors out of the 35 clubs and teams that participated! LSA raised over $3000 for Best Buddies, and Jane D'Ambra '20 was named the #1 individual fundraiser! The student officers were an integral part of making this such a successful turnout (Marina Rouse, Jacob Lifrak, Jane D'Ambra, Caroline Taylor, and Raf Awa). Members of girls soccer team were also in attendance. It was a beautiful day for a great cause! Way to go!

Best Buddies is an international nonprofit organization that promotes one-to-one friendships and inclusive living for students with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Here at La Salle we partner with the Meeting Street School in Providence. Students go to Meeting Street every Wednesday after school and spend time with their buddies doing different social activities. There are also several other activities throughout the year such as dances, holiday parties, and lunches here at La Salle.

Check out @bestbuddieslsa on instagram for some more photos from the day!

The Best Buddies Friendship Walk is the number one walk in the country raising awareness and funds to support inclusion for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). The Friendship Walk is held each year to raise awareness and support for the mission of Best Buddies.
