ALUMNUS SIGNS WITH BOSTON CANNONS

(QUINCY, MA) September 20, 2018    – The Boston Cannons of   Major League Lacrosse (MLL) , the premier professional outdoor lacrosse league, announced today that they have agreed on a three-year contract with LSM Cody O’Donnell. This keeps him a Boston Cannon through the 2021 season.

O’Donnell, 25, went undrafted in the 2017 MLL Draft, and was then acquired by the Boston Cannons through the MLL Player Pool prior to 2018 Training Camp.  O’Donnell went on to play a vital role in the LSM/Defense for Boston, playing in ten games grabbing 15 ground-balls and scoring against New York on July 19 th

“Cody is coming off a tremendous rookie season in the MLL,” Head Coach Sean Quirk said. “As voted by the Cannons fans as Rookie of the Year, we are excited that Cody has signed back on with us in Boston.”

O’Donnell played his college lacrosse at Bryant University, and was known to have “grit and versatility” after bouncing back from a medical red-shirt in 2013 to play both LSM and close defense for the Bulldogs. After his red-shirt-freshman season in 2014, O’Donnell was named to the NEC All-Rookie Team following a productive season on both offense and defense. In 2015, the LSM was named to the All-NEC Second Team, NEILA All-New England Second Team, NEC All-Tournament Team, and NEILA Preseason All-New England Second Team, before continuing his success as a junior and senior.
