Welcome to Summer At La Salle 2014!
This summer give your child the chance to enjoy music, theater, sports and academics!  Introducing Summer at La Salle! 
 
Summer at La Salle offers 3 packed weeks of innovative and fun camps that are designed for upcoming 5th – 8th graders.
 
Choose morning or afternoon sessions, or mix and match to stay the whole day! 
 
The camps will run weekdays, July 14th – August 1st 2014.
 
Don't let your child miss out on an exciting, fun and educational summer on our beautiful campus!
 
Camps
Instrumental Music
Three Weeks July 14-August 1

Do you love music? Do you drive your parents crazy banging on your drum set? Want to know how your instrument fits into an orchestra? Have you always wanted to perform in a concert?
 
The La Salle Summer Instrumental Music Camp welcomes wind, brass and percussion performers to come and play!
 
Play with other campers who love music! Learn what it takes to be a member of a large music ensemble! Get inside your favorite composer’s head and learn some music theory!
 
And at the end of these three awesome weeks get the chance to be in a concert with your new friends to show what you have learned!
 
The La Salle Summer Instrumental Music Camp runs every day of camp from 9-noon.

The Total Athlete: Strength and Conditioning Clinic
One Week. July 14-18
One Week. July 25-28

Are you worried about not making the team next year? Need to get prepared for the upcoming season?  Do you want to learn the right way to get stronger?
 
The Total Athlete: Strength and Conditioning Clinic teaches successful training methods to get YOU in game shape for your upcoming season.  
 
Learn by doing! Learn how to build your strength and agility.  Learn tips on how to help prevent potential injuries by increasing your knowledge of helpful exercises. 
 
Leave with an 8-week program to make sure you're ready to make the team.

Tennis Camp
One Week. July 21-25

Do you love tennis? Think you could be the next big Tennis star? Or do you just want to learn how to play?  
 
This Tennis Camp is for all players with any level ability from beginning to advanced.
 
Learn or brush up on the fundamentals!  No matter your skill, take your game to the next level!
 
Tennis Camp runs Week 2, July 21-25, 9-Noon.

Track Camp
One Week. July 28 - August 1

Do you love running? Have you always wanted to race? How far do you think you could throw a javelin?
 
This camp is geared for those interested in learning about how to compete in Track and Field.
 
Learn about and practice sprints, distance training and the throws (hammer, shot put, javelin, and discus). Get tips and tricks to help your racing skills grow!
 
Lead by Rhode Island All-State Athletes and State Championship coaches David Wright and Kelly Martin.
 
Track Camp runs Week 3, July 28-August 1, from 9-Noon.

Theatre Camp
Three Weeks July 14-August 1

Do you love to perform on stage? Are you the next Award Winning Actor or Actress? Curious about what it takes to put on a show?
 
This camp is packed with acting, dancing, and voice & diction lessons!
 
Develop your performance skills and build self-confidence on the stage! Get moving and learn the basics of dance you will use in any dancing performance! Learn about harmony and breath control without harsh criticism!
 
Become a better performer! No auditions required!
 
And at the end of the fun filled three weeks campers will put on a show!
 
Theatre camp runs every day of camp from 12:45-3:45pm

Read it, Write it, Draw it
One Week. July 14-18.

Do you love telling stories? Are you an artist? Want to learn to blog?
 
In this camp, sharpen your story telling skills by experiencing literature in a variety of ways.
 
Using technology you will interact and share your favorite books and personal writing, by creating your own blog, creating graphic novels, and correspond with virtual pen pals!
 
If you’re a writer or storyteller, you do not want to miss out on this camp!
 
Read It, Write It, Draw it runs week 1. July 14-18 from 12:45-3:45pm

HSPT Prep
One Week. July 21-25

Do you dread taking tests? Do you want to be a better test taker? Did you know there are tricks to make tests easier?
 
This camp will help you get a solid foundation of math and English skills that will be important now, for high school and later in life. Learn to be a better test taker in a fun and relaxed learning environment! Don’t get scared about tests again!
 
La Salle Academy's High School Prep's tutorial program focuses exclusively on preparing 7th and 8th graders for the High School Placement Test.
 
HSPT Prep runs week 2, July 21-25 from 12:45-3:45pm

Great Presentations
One Week. July 28-August 1

Do you love public speaking? Or do you dread giving presentations to your class?  Did you know there are free tools online to help make your presentations better?
 
During this camp, many different methods of creating awesome presentations will be explored. You will learn how to use Google Presentation, Prezi, Glogster, WeVideo, and more to create fun summer projects.
 
The best part?  All these technologies are free! So once school starts back up again, you can dazzle your teachers and peers with your amazing presentations!
