Welcome to La Salle’s PEGASUS 7/8 Middle School Program. PEGASUS stands for
tudents. The title PEGASUS also implies the uniqueness of the program and the individuals who comprise it. Pegasus in myth is unique and one of a kind. How aptly those words describe this unique and truly special approach to middle school education.
Recognized by the National Catholic Educational Association as a recipient of the group’s prestigious Special Programs in Catholic Education Award, PEGASUS maintains the highest standards of excellence in all aspects of its offerings and services in the tradition of the La Salle Academy commitment to excellence. Currently, the faculty consists of six full-time teachers and two administrators who also teach in the program. The student population is limited to not more than 90 in total for the entire program.
The program centers on the learning styles and needs of gifted and talented students and is designed to allow good students to become resourceful, independent and enthusiastic learners. Hands on, interactive, vital and challenging educational experiences abound in the PEGASUS Center. The learning process here is dynamic and life-giving with constant emphasis on the words “Love to LEARN” and “Learn to LOVE.” Simply stated our students are taught to “love to learn” while they “learn to love” others and God. One PEGASUS student shared recently that “The PEGASUS Program isn’t just a school, it’s a family.”
