On Friday night, La Salle won 3-1. Saturday night, the Rams dropped a 2-1 overtime game to set up the final game showdown.

With Brown University's Meehan Auditorium packed to the rafters, Senior Joe Manown gave the Maroon and White faithful something to scream about as he took a pass from Tyler Glick and scored a goal 46 seconds into the game. It set the tone as it did in game one when Manown also scored in the first minute. If the Ram fans needed an omen, that was a good one. Twelve minutes later, Ryan Tracy took a pass from Evan McGreen and fired a shot to make it 2-0. That score would hold up for the rest of the first period.

The Hawks scored a power play goal late in the second period. The teams would start the third period with a 2-1 score.

Some of the pressure came off as Matt Manown found the top of the net just a minute into the third period to make it a 3-1 game. From there, the defense and forechecking of the Rams took charge. Walsh was stellar in net, as he had been throughout the series. Captain Ben Aldrich backboned a defense that would bend but not break. Nick Altieri, Ryan Kelly, and Billy DeBlois made sure that Walsh could keep his eyes on the puck, and also made sure there were no rebounds left unattended. Unfortunately for the fans, the clock just didn't seem to move fast enough. The Hawks pulled their goalie with just over two minutes to go, and the Rams picked up a questionable penalty with about 90 seconds to go to add to the drama. But on this night, La Salle was not to be denied. Despite Hendricken's six on four skater advantage, the Rams controlled the puck, and Joe Manown put a bow on the trophy with his empty net goal, his fourth goal of the series. From there, it was just a matter of when the celebrating would start.
