BOYS AND GIRLS CROSS COUTNRY TEAMS WIN CLASS A CHAMPIONSHIPS

The La Salle Boys and Girls Cross Country teams each won the RIIL Class A Championships Saturday. Both teams finished with 21 points to easily outdistance their competition. Sophomore David Principe, Jr. won the boys race, and Junior Eliza Rego led a 1-2-3 La Salle finish in winning the girls race.
The La Salle Boys and Girls Cross Country teams each won the RIIL Class A Championships Saturday. Both teams finished with 21 points to easily outdistance their competition. Sophomore David Principe, Jr. won the boys race, and Junior Eliza Rego led a 1-2-3 La Salle finish in winning the girls race.

In the Boys race, Principe finished in first with a time of 15:50. Matt Bouthilette and Jake Grundy finished third and fourth in 16:06 and 16:15, respectively. Dan Paiva and Chris Notarianni finished in sixth and seventh in 16:19 and 16:30, respectively. The 1-3-4-6-7 finish accounted for La Salle's 21 points. Bishop Hendricken came in second with 43 points.

In the Girls race, Rego led a 1-2-3 finish as Karina Tavares came in second, and Sheridan Wilbur finished third. Their times were 18:13, 18:17, and 18:30. Cianna Lynch and Audrey O'Neill finished seventh and eighth with times of 19:18 and 19:20, respectivley. The 1-2-3-7-8 finish accounted for La Salle's 21 points. North Kingstown High School finished second with 85 points.
