"BIG 3" HAVE BIG WEEKEND

La Salle Boy's track stars contine to shine--one last time!

The end of the academic year at La Salle Academy did not quite mark the end of student accomplishments. This past weekend the “Big Three” of Boy’s Track ran personal records at three different locations around the country in prestigious scholastic events. Rising Senior DJ Principe handily beat the field in the New Balance Nationals 5000m race with a personal best time and a new Rhode Island state record. Recent graduate Jack Salisbury competed in the Adidas Dream Mile and ran a personal best while winning the race, nipping his nearest competitor at the finish line. Jack finishes a remarkable running career (in cross-country, indoor and outdoor track) at La Salle and continues his running career at Georgetown University.  Joining him at Georgetown after a star career at La Salle is Matt Bouthillette. Matt ran his personal best in the highly competitive 2 mile race at the Brooks PR Invitational; he also set a new RI state record time in the 2 mile.

It will be impossible to replace the two recent grad champion runners; however, the future of La Salle cross-country and track remains bright with DJ Principe taking the lead!
