REGO SHINES IN FINAL STATE MEET PERFROMANCE

Senior Eliza Rego closed out her final RIIL State Championship with two more gold medals for her resume. Rego led the Lady Rams to a third place finish in the championships. La Salle scored 55 points, six points behind Smithfield High School's winning point total of 61.

Rego won both the 1500 and 800 meter races. She ran a gutsy 3000 meter race and finished in third to give the Lady Rams a chance going into the relay. She then volunteered to run the anchor leg on the 4 x 400m relay, the last event of the day. She ran a grea time, but ultimately, it wasn't enough to carry the day. 

La Salle started the running events with a first place performance in the 4 x 800m relay. Karina Tavares, Alyson Walsh, Grace Connolly, and Emily Kane earned the gold for the Lady Rams. 

Tavares also placed in the 3000 and the 1500. She took a second in the 3000, and fifth in the 1500. Connolly also grabbed a fifth in the 3000.

Senior Kelsey Coughlin tied for third in the pole vault, scoring the only five points the team garned in any of the field events.

The 4 x 100 relay and the 4 x 400 relay both finished in sixth place.
