STUDENTS ATTEND MODEL UN AT HARVARD

Twenty-four La Salle Academy students attended Harvard Model United Nations from January 28th to 31st at the Sheraton Boston Hotel.  This was the 63rd time that Harvard has hosted this event, in which students  participate in a simulated United Nations conference.  Over 3,000 students from approximately countries participated this year.  La Salle has been attending for more than a decade.

Each school (delegation) is assigned a country or countries to represent.  The students (delegates) have to research their country and the committee topics they are assigned  They then debate from the perspective of that country.  This year La Salle represented Yemen and Timor-Leste.  La Salle delegates worked in committees such as Legal, World Health, and Economic and Financial.

La Salle senior Oliver O’Neill was awarded Best Delegate - Honorable Mention for his work in the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization representing Yemen.
