JUNIOR LASALLIAN YOUTH INDUCTION

PEGASUS 8 students become members of the Junior Lasallian Youth Group.

On Wednesday afternoon, 30 September, following a morning of retreat activities, the students of PEGASUS 8 were inducted as members of Junior Lasallian Youth.   Junior Lasallian Youth is based on three key Lasallian themes: faith, service, and community. Students, faculty, and family members gathered in the Chapel of the Brothers’ Residence for this traditional ceremony.

The Induction Prayer Service was organized and led by Mrs. Anne Ejnes, Dean of Students and Coordinator of PEGASUS 8. Six students gave personal reflections on and read Scripture passages about the Lasallian themes; three additional students lighted candles for each theme. After a short presentation by Brother Frederick Mueller, FSC, Coordinator of Lasallian Formation for the Academy, he first inducted the entire eighth grade as members of the group and then called forth the twenty-one young men and women who had expressed willingness to serve the group in a leadership capacity. These Lasallian Leaders lit individual candles from the Faith—Service—Community candles and then they were inducted by Brother Frederick as leaders. The Prayer Service ended with the entire class gathering before the altar to sing a final song, “All You Did Was Save My Life”, which had been taught to them by teacher/advisor Mr. Evan Gilroy.
