ADOPT-A-FAMILY

La Salle Academy students and teachers adopt families for Christmas gift-giving.

Each year La Salle Academy serves those who are most in need at Christmastime by a program called Adopt-a-Family. Gifts for 53 families were brought in by students and teachers. This represents 163 children and 91 parents. The need this year was so great that, after  a record number of families were bought for, two other families that were in distress due to being evicted and a burglary were added.

The Social Concerns group sorted and delivered the presents that were wrapped in homeroom. The entire community made real the mission of Saint John Baptist de La Salle by their outstanding concern for the poor.  Their generosity was a great inspiration in this Advent season of hope.

"He who is kind to the poor lends to the LORD, and He will reward them for what they have done."
